ASU is involved in a wide range of projects from supporting refugees in their pursuit of higher education to fighting disparities in their health care and overall well-being, and more.

Projects

Borderless Opportunities for Learning and Development
ASU’s EdPlus partnered with Kepler — a nonprofit that teams up with universities to bring higher education to refugees in the Kiziba refugee camp in Rwanda — to set up a pilot online course at the camp through the Borderless Opportunities for Learning and Development, or BOLD, program.

Helping refugee women with mental health services
ASU’s Southwest Interdisciplinary Research Center studied the Refugee Health Screener-15 to assess the mental health of female refugees, who are often the victims of violence. The screening tool helps assess women for anxiety, depression and posttraumatic stress disorder in a culturally sensitive way and helps them obtain mental health services, if needed.
